After growing up in Miami, FL and spending most of my childhood outside boating, hiking, snorkeling, and BMX biking I moved to Washington state with my family. I spent nine years in Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula where I furthered my appreciation for the outdoors through backpacking, trail running, and road biking.
I went to school in Seattle with the intention of becoming a physical therapist but switched tracks after a few years and decided to pursue personal training. After earning a certification through the National Council on Strength and Fitness I spent the next two and a half years working with a small private training company and subsequently LA Fitness. In 2010 I decided that it was time for a change of pace and drove down to Orange County, CA in the quest for perpetual sunshine and spent the next two and a half years working for Equinox. During my time there I completed 150 hours of in house education focused on biomechanics, kinesiology, physiology, and post-physical therapy/injury rehab. This influx of new information spurred my desire for learning and I spent the next year educating myself and earning certifications including TRX Suspension Trainer, KA Kettlebell Coach, and USAW Olympic Weightlifting & Strength Coach, not to mention thousands of hours of personal reading and research out of my passion to be a better person and a better trainer for my clients.
Always active, never athletic, I thought I was doomed to eternity as an uncoordinated skinny kid until I found my passion for fitness. The drive to always do better, lift more, be stronger, and feel healthier revamped my life. We like to blame ‘bad’ genetics, injuries, or a history of weight management problems; these are all excuses that we use to stop ourselves from getting in shape. You’re better than you think you are and are capable of so much more than you would ever know. Let me show you your unfulfilled potential. My training philosophy is simple; you’re only as strong as your weakest link and I want to rid you of whatever is holding you back. I want to help your body remember what it’s supposed to be; pain-free, flexible, healthy and STRONG. Allow me to introduce you to StrongPoints Fitness.
